Which SEO queries actually move the business
Start with conversion contribution and lost potential. Use the table below as evidence for what to fix first.
Protect high-tier queries, audit pages with traffic but no key events, and grow pages where low traffic already converts well.

Why GSC and GA4 must be analyzed together
Google Search Console excels at showing which queries drive traffic. GA4 shows what happens after the click: conversions, engagement, revenue. But both tools work in isolation by default.
Query → Conversion Bridge joins these two sources. For each query from GSC, we take the landing page, find its key event rate in GA4, and calculate the estimated conversions: est_key_events = clicks × key_event_rate / 100.
The result is a ranking of queries not by traffic volume, but by real business contribution. A query with 100 clicks and 5% key event rate yields 5 conversions — 10× more valuable than a query with 1,000 clicks and 0% conversion rate.
How to read the results
Tier High (green). Query delivers ≥5 estimated conversions. These are your most valuable keywords — invest in rankings, improve snippets, build links.
Tier Medium (yellow). 1–5 conversions. Promising queries — a small CTR or position improvement could push them to High tier. Check: is the snippet optimized? Does the page appear in featured snippets?
Traffic waste insight (🚨). High-traffic queries (≥10 clicks) on pages with zero key event rate. Either the page doesn't match search intent — needs rework — or key events aren't configured for this page.
Hidden gem insight (💎). Low-traffic query (<50 clicks) on a page with a high (≥3%) key event rate. Priority for promotion: the audience already converts — add traffic.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are est. key events "estimated" rather than exact?
est_key_events = clicks × key_event_rate / 100. This is a good approximation but not exact — different queries to the same page can have different conversion rates. Use this data for prioritization, not financial reporting. Why do many queries show zero key event rate?
