What it checks

  • Filler words and empty modifiers
  • Bureaucratic constructions
  • Advertising cliches and vague promises
  • Weak verbs, passive wording and long sentences

How to read the score

10 means very clean. 8–9 is solid. 6–7 has visible filler. Below 6 needs editing based on highlighted fragments.

How to check text quality

  1. Paste your article, product description or landing page copy.
  2. Review the water score and the list of the most frequent empty constructions.
  3. Cut the filler phrases that carry no information while keeping the facts and arguments.
  4. Re-run the check and compare: the volume should drop while the meaning stays.

What text water content is and why it matters

Water content is the share of words that add no meaning: filler phrases, generic statements, repetitions of what was already said. Such copy takes longer to read and carries less information.

Search engines have no "water" metric, but they have users: if the first screen gives no answer, the reader goes back to the results. So excess filler affects outcomes indirectly but genuinely.

Stop words are not harmful in themselves — natural language needs them. They become a problem when they take the place of facts, numbers and concrete statements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What water level is acceptable?
There is no universal threshold, and chasing zero is a mistake: overly dry copy is hard to read. Judge by substance — can a sentence be removed without losing meaning?
Does water content affect Google rankings?
There is no direct factor. But copy that does not answer quickly retains readers worse and is cited less often in snippets and AI answers — and that does affect traffic.
Which languages are supported?
Ukrainian, Russian and English. The stop-word and filler lists differ per language, so the check accounts for each one’s specifics.
How is this different from a spell checker?
A spell checker looks for mistakes; a quality check looks for emptiness. Copy can be grammatically flawless and still tell the reader nothing.
