Toxic Links & Disavow

☠️
Spam attack
"A competitor 'gifted' us 5000 links from pharma sites overnight. Negative SEO. We uploaded a disavow file to Search Console. After 4 weeks Google stopped counting those links."
📌 Toxic links — links that can harm SEO: from spam sites, irrelevant directories, or with over-optimized anchors.

How to Use Disavow

  1. Export all links from GSC + Ahrefs
  2. Identify toxic ones: spam, casino, pharma, 0 traffic, irrelevant
  3. Try to remove (write to webmasters)
  4. Rest → disavow file: domain:spamsite.com
  5. Upload via GSC → Links → Disavow
⚠️ Disavow only if:
• There's a manual action, OR
• Clear spam attack (negative SEO)

Ordinary weak links Google ignores on its own!
🎯 Tip: set up Google Alerts for your domain mentions — you'll know about spam attacks before they cause damage.
🎮 Test yourself: what's the correct action when toxic links are found?
