Queries, pages and countries
Queries, Pages and Countries cut the same Search Console data three ways. This page lists the columns, filters and exports of each report and explains why row counts can differ from totals.

Three reports on the same data
Queries, Pages and Countries are the three core ways to cut Search Console performance data. They use the same metrics (clicks, impressions, CTR and average position) and the same period logic as the dashboard, so a total in one report matches the others for the same period and filters. What changes is the row: a search query, a landing page or a country (dimensions and data groupings).
Open them from the sidebar under Analytics. Each report has a back link to the dashboard and keeps the property you selected.
Queries
The Queries report lists the search terms that produced impressions for the property.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Query | the search term |
| Clicks | clicks in the period, with the previous value underneath; the default sort |
| Impressions | impressions, with the previous value |
| CTR | clicks divided by impressions, with the previous value |
| Position | average position in the period |
| Previous ranking | average position in the comparison period |
| Click change | the change in clicks against the comparison period, as a percentage |
The toolbar has the period menu (7, 28, 90 or 180 days), a search box, a movement filter (All, Winning, Losing), a Columns panel to show or hide columns, Copy and CSV. The table shows 25 rows per page. The report loads up to 50,000 rows, which the header reports as the row count.
Pages
The Pages report lists landing pages. Google assigns page data to canonical URLs, so a page reached through several URLs is counted under its canonical one (dimensions).
- Columns: Page, Clicks, Impressions, Average position and Previous position. Clicks and impressions carry an arrow and the percentage change against the comparison period.
- Row actions: an external-link icon opens the page, and a copy icon copies its URL.
- Size: the report can hold tens of thousands of rows; the property in our check showed 47,724.
The Pages report has no CTR column; use the dashboard or the Queries report for CTR.
Countries
The Countries report groups performance by the country of the searcher. Each row shows the country code and name, clicks and impressions with their change. A property can list many countries; our check showed 218.
- Filters: period (7 days, 28 days, 3 months, 6 months), search type (Web, Images, Video, News, Discover) and a country search box.
- Movement: All, Growing or Declining.
- Chart: a bar chart that you can switch between clicks and impressions, with a minimum-clicks threshold (20 by default) and a minimum-impressions threshold, plus PNG export.
- Table: 50 rows per page, with Copy and CSV.
Reading the change
All three reports compare the period with the equal comparison period chosen in the dashboard (see dates, comparisons and data delay). A row counts as winning or growing when its clicks rose against that period, and as losing or declining when they fell. A large percentage on a few clicks is noise: look at the absolute change and at the thresholds before acting.
What the numbers can and cannot tell you
- Anonymized queries. Google omits some queries to protect privacy. They are included in chart totals unless a query filter is applied, so the rows of the Queries table can add up to less than the total (dimensions).
- Truncation. Search Console returns the most important rows only, so the row count describes exported rows, not every query or page.
- Preliminary days. The newest days can change; read the delay label next to the period.
- Position is an average. It is the topmost position, averaged (metric definitions).
Three practical uses
| Question | Where | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Which queries are losing clicks? | Queries, filter Losing, sort by Click change | open the biggest losses and check the page for each |
| Which pages grew most? | Pages, sort by Clicks | note what the top pages have in common |
| Did a country drop? | Countries, filter Declining | raise the minimum-clicks threshold to hide tiny rows |
Copy, CSV and PNG
Copy puts the visible table on the clipboard, CSV downloads it, and the Countries chart has a PNG export. The export contains the rows after the active filters.
If something looks wrong
| Symptom | Cause and fix |
|---|---|
| “Loading Search Console rows…” for a long time | large properties load tens of thousands of rows; wait, or choose a shorter period |
| Row totals below the dashboard total | anonymized queries and truncation; this is how Search Console reports data |
| Some labels appear in Russian on the English interface | a known localization gap in parts of the Pages and Countries reports; the data is not affected |
Queries, pages and countries, answered
Why does the Pages report have no CTR column?
It shows clicks, impressions and position with their changes. Use the dashboard or the Queries report for CTR.
What do Winning and Losing mean?
Winning rows have more clicks than in the comparison period; Losing rows have fewer.
Why are there fewer rows than queries I expect?
Google truncates the export and omits anonymized queries.
Can I export the data?
Yes: Copy and CSV for tables, PNG for the Countries chart.
